The Maurer Design Collection by Hans Ulrich Maurer in Zollikon near Zurich (Switzerland) comprises exceptional, limited-edition design objects from the 1990s to the present day.
As a passionate collector born in 1956, I have a soft spot for rare contemporary furniture and design objects. When selecting pieces for my collection, I look for innovative ideas combining new technologies and materials. In the production process, craftsmanship is particularly important to me. The majority of the objects in my collection were designed and manufactured by trained industrial designers.
Discovering young talent is a challenge that gives me particular pleasure. The decisions for my new acquisitions mature in exchange with design gallerists, design-savvy friends as well as the designers themselves.
