The Maurer Design Collection in Zollikon near Zurich (Switzerland) combines unusual, rare design objects from the 90s to the present day.
The passionate collector, Hans-Ulrich Maurer, concentrates on limited, contemporary furniture and design objects when choosing his exhibition pieces. The use of new technologies in combination with craftsmanship is important to him in the designs of the designers.
All objects in the collection come from trained industrial designers. He is particularly interested in graduates of the Design Academy Eindhoven in the Netherlands, who come from Generation X. At the beginning of this millennium, this design school was often referred to as the new Bauhaus.
Hans Ulrich Maurer, born in 1956, is a graphic designer. You find a selection of his work at MCC Maurer Creative Concepts.
